Spurs "at" Wolves
8:30 pm Central
NBA TV, FSN
The more I think about this, the less I understand it. Never mind the costs to the Wolves having to sell a home game; it's annoying, but whatever. Not having the Spurs come to Target is also annoying, but again, let's move past it.
Here's what I don't get: what kind of "global initiative" or "building the international profile of the league" is a one-off game on a random Wednesday night in December?
Seriously, how does this help? You want to do something, do it. Bring four or eight teams down for four days or even a week and play a series of games, really market the enterprise, make it an event, like a little all-star weekend where the NBA can show its stuff.
Here we are with one game where both teams will get out of town as fast as possible, and...what? What gets accomplished here?
