Flip Saunders Press Conference 2:00pm CDT; Bayno Headed for Toronto

Flip will hold a solo presser this afternoon, and the Wolves are down an assistant coach.

Rob Carr

Flip's presser starts at 2:00pm, and there are a lot of questions for him, from the price tag on Corey Brewer, to the trade of Luke Ridnour, and what happened with Andrei Kirilenko. And by the way, COULD YOU PLEASE SIGN PEK???

We'll see what he gets asked.

The presser is being streamed on Timberwolves.com so we can keep up with it in comments.

In the meantime, it appears that Wolves assistant coach Bill Bayno is taking a position on Dwayne Casey's staff in Toronto:

Bayno has gotten a lot of credit for working on the Wolves defense and also with their big men. Sounds like he will be missed. On the other hand, presumably the Raptors had to get permission from the Wolves to talk to Bayno, and I assume Adelman was involved in that decision. They could have kept him, but chose to let him leave.

Speculation that Elston Turner will replace Bayno on Adelman's staff, but we've been half expecting that hire for a while, so we'll see. I'd like to get Turner on board, as he looks like a potentially good head coaching candidate for the post-Adelman era, but who knows where the team will be at that point?

Another open thread, so you know what to do.
