Couple of quick notes for you:

Kevin Love (along with Kevin Durant) have already committed to playing for Team USA at the FIBA 2014 World Cup (the re-branded world championships). Love is a veteran of the 2010 Worlds and the 2012 Olympics, helping the USA to gold medals in both competitions.

In the meantime, there is confirmation of plans for Flip Saunders to travel to New York to meet with Jeff Schwartz, agent for Nikola Pekovic, to try to get a deal finished. The clock is ticking as Montenegro will start their training camp for Eurobasket in the next week or two.

Why this thing is taking so long has been the subject of significant speculation--are the reports of the Wovles offer overblown? Did the agent promise something he's having trouble delivering?

At any rate, they should get this done relatively soon. Plus, any excuse to show some Pek!

Historical note: Emmett Till would have been 72 today.

Open it up, friends.
