Grizzlies at Wolves
7:00 pm Central
FSN
The Wolves look to continue their winning ways tonight at Target Center against the red hot Memphis Grizzlies, a team that has always given them trouble. The absence of Nikola Pekovic against the big Grizzlies featuring Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol will certainly be felt, and the Wolves will have to play significantly better then they did against the undermanned Pelicans on Wednesday in order to win.
The Grizzlies have been playing fantastic basketball since Gasol returned from injury and they acquired shooting guard Courtney Lee from Boston. They have won 9 of their last 10 games, including recent wins in Houston and Portland.
This will be a battle of pace, as the Grizzlies are the slowest team in the league while the Wolves play fast. It will also be a battle of the boards, as these are two of the best rebounding teams in the NBA. Losing Pek's offensive rebounding proficiency could be difficult to overcome tonight.
This game features a couple of interesting matchups, as Ricky Rubio faces off against the excellent Mike Conley in a battle of two of the best defensive point guards in the league, and Kevin Love matches up with the post-up nightmare that can be Zach Randolph. It should be fun.
