Timberwolves Notes: In Philly Tonight, Muhammad in Reno

Just a few notes for your ice cold cup of Canis. Man it's cold.

Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

The Wolves are in Philadelphia for a game against the 76ers tonight as they will once again look to get back to .500. They had their biggest comeback win of the year at home against the Sixers in December; you will remember that they trailed 39-20 after the first quarter of that one. They whittled away at that lead for the rest of the game before pulling away late to win 106-99.

The Sixers were without standout rookie Michael Carter-Williams in that one, but we should get a look at him tonight. They are just home from a six game road trip which featured wins in the last four games--culminating in a victory in Portland. That four game winning streak broke them out of a brutal 3-17 stretch.

The recent story has been Thaddeus Young, who has found his groove over the last couple of weeks after some ups and downs to start the season.

Elsewhere, Shabazz Muhammad will make his D-League debut tomorrow night in Reno at the D-League showcase, where the Energy will again play on Thursday.

It's really cold. They cancelled school in Madison today because of it.

Note: Last night's loss in Miami ended Toronto's five game winning streak and a 9-2 stretch that included wins in Dallas, Oklahoma City, and at home against Indiana.  They now top the Atlantic Division (at 16-16).  Kyle Lowry is playing fantastic basketball, and that trade looks pretty good right now.
