The Pistons visit Target Center tonight in the Wolves home opener. Both teams are coming off losses last night, the Wolves to the Grizzlies in Memphis and the Pistons to the Nuggets in Denver.

Stan van Gundy has taken over the reins in Detroit, but the roster remains a work in progress. The Pistons were unable to move Josh Smith over the summer, and were unable to either trade or sign Greg Monroe to an extension, meaning he is playing on a qualifying offer this season. Monroe will be out tonight on the 2nd of a two game suspension for a DWI.

Smith was the Pistons leading scorer last night with 25, but they were unable to get consistently good shots and wound up under 40% from the field against the Nuggets. The Wolves will look to turn around their negative turnover discrepancy from last night and push the pace at home.

It could be another tough match up for Nikola Pekovic against Andre Drummond, another strong post defender. Pek really needs to get things going in the pick and roll, and it would be a big help if he can draw a couple of early fouls given the absence of Monroe from the Pistons front line.

According to Flip, Kevin Martin is available tonight. As of this writing, the starting lineup has not been announced, so the below is a guess.

Expected lineups

Pistons

Brandon Jennings
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Kyle Singler
Josh Smith
Andre Drummond

Wolves

Ricky Rubio
Kevin Martin
Corey Brewer
Thad Young
Nikola Pekovic
