FIBA Women's World Championship Final: U.S. vs. Spain

The match-up we did not get in the men's tournament happens today in the gold medal game of the women's world championship as the U.S. faces Spain in a battle of undefeated teams.

The U.S. and Spain meet today for the gold medal at the women's world championship in Turkey. Both teams arrive at the final with perfect 5-0 records in the tournament. Spain defeated host Turkey in one semi-final, while the U.S. beat Australia in the other.

Spain is led by the excellent inside out duo of power forward Sancho Lyttle and wing player Alba Torrens. Lyttle is averaging 18.6 points and 11.6 rebounds a game, while Torrens is going for 16.6 ppg and shooting 45% from behind the arc.

The U.S. features incredible depth of talent, with players like Maya Moore, Brittney Griner, Tina Charles, and Diana Taurasi taking turns headlining the attack.
