Spurs at Wolves
7:00 pm CST
FS North
The depleted Wolves host the defending champion Spurs tonight at Target Center. The Spurs are coming off a win in Cleveland and are 7-4 on the season. The Spurs are off to a slow start offensively, particularly their shooting, usually a big strength. They are 24th in three point shooting percentage, and 23rd in overall FG%.
This has been countered by the 2nd ranked defense so far, as they allow the 4th lowest efg% in the league and have been the NBA's best defensive rebounding team.
The Wolves meanwhile suffered another injury blow when Kevin Martin was diagnosed with a fractured wrist that will keep him out indefinitely. As a result, the Wolves will be missing four starters for tonight's game, and have only 10 players available, as Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic, Thad Young, and Ronny Turiaf are all also unavailable.
This one could get ugly fast. They Wolves will be Mo Williams, Corey Brewer, and a bunch of kids. David, meed Goliath. The next few weeks will be an exercise in losing, patience, and probably losing patience. And also looking for signs of hope from the young players.
Buckle up.
