The Timberwolves and Lakers play tonight at Staples Center in a matchup between the two worst teams in the Western Conference (9:30 CST). Minnesota is 3-10 while the Lakers are 3-12. Both teams are on three game losing streaks.
If you're interested in what Lakers fans have to say check out our blogging buddies over at Silver Screen and Roll.
All I have to say is this: at least the Wolves have Andrew Wiggins and a collection of other promising young players. The Lakers have the biggest chucker in the league in Kobe Bryant -- almost 24 shots per game on 37.9 percent. Toss in some Carlos Boozer, Wes Johnson, and Swaggy P off the bench... the injury depleted Wolves actually have a good chance in this game. It should be a competitive contest, but we'll see what happens.
Keep your eye on Shabazz Muhammad and Zach LaVine, who make their return to Los Angeles. I'm sure the former UCLA "one-and-done" guys want to show up in a big way.
Expected Lineups:
Wolves:
PG: Mo Williams / SG: Corey Brewer / SF: Andrew Wiggins / PF: Thad Young / C: Gorgui Dieng
Lakers:
PG: Jeremy Lin / SG: Kobe Bryant / SF: Wes Johnson (!!!!!) / PF: Carlos Boozer (?????) / C: Jordan Hill
Here are some tweets:
Flip tells the media that Mo Williams will be available to play tonight. Not expected to be limited. #Twolves

.@22wiggins on guarding Bryant "He's arguably the best player ever, great scorer, great player. I'm just excited to be playing against him."

Flip on Wiggins guarding Bryant "He's had Melo, he's had Harden & those guys. He's never shied away from those moments."

If #twolves start Williams, Brewer, Wiggins, Young & Dieng, it'll mark the 8th straight game they've gone with a different starting lineup.
