Wolves at Magic
6:00 pm Central
FSN
The Wolves will need to summon some energy from somewhere this evening in Orlando after last night's epic double overtime tilt in Miami. The Magic also played last night, losing in Charlotte 91-80.
No word yet on whether Kevin Martin will be available tonight after missing yesterday's game with a sore foot. Given that they are almost certainly without Nikola Pekovic, and several guys played very heavy minutes last night, they need all the help they can get. On the other hand, it was just announced that Dante Cunningham has joined the team in Orlando and will play tonight, according to Coach Rick Adelman.
On the other hand, the Magic are a significantly less challenging opponent then the Heat, currently sitting at 21-55 and staring a high lottery pick in the face. Arron Afflalo leads their struggling offense in most categories, and is their only significant threat from behind the arc, while Pek's fellow Montenegrin Nikola Vucevic is probably their best all-around player. Vucevic, however, did not play in Charlotte and will not play tonight due to a sore Achilles tendon. Dewayne Dedmon is slated to start instead, according to Orlando Pinstriped Post. The Magic have a few interesting young pieces in addition to Vucevic, notably forwards Tobias Harris and Mo Harkless, along with rookie Victor Oladipo, who has struggled with a role that is too big for him at the moment.
Overall, the Magic have simply not been able to score consistently thanks to poor shooting and a lack of offensive rebounding.
The first meeting between these teams was the Wolves' first game of the season, which they won in overtime at Target Center.
