Well, things will probably be in a holding pattern for the next few weeks, as the Cavaliers have signed Andrew Wiggins, meaning they cannot trade him for 30 days. A similar situation exists with the Bulls' rookies Doug McDermott and Nikola Mirotic.
Today's ESPN piece from Stein and WIndhorst reiterates much of what they wrote earlier in the week, suggesting that the Cavs remain frontrunners for Love based on the availability of Wiggins:
Sources told ESPN.com that the Wolves, at present, are higher on a Cleveland trade package centered around Wiggins than any other offer on the table for Love.
Meanwhile, Love will be joining the rest of his USA Basketball teammates at training camp in Las Vegas next week, where he will certainly be a center of attention, and will have the chance to speak face to face with possible future teammates LeBron James and Derrick Rose. Should be interesting.
Elsewhere, an interesting article from Tim Kawakami detailing the Warriors stance in all of this and why they haven't been willing to include Klay Thompson. One of the major points he makes is that the Warriors value David Lee more than anyone else in the league.
The Lynx are back in action tonight at home against the San Antonio Silver Stars. The Lynx have won five in a row and seven of eight (all without Seimone Augustus) and got Rebekkah Brunson back in their last game. Their bench remains a big weakness, however, as they simply have not been able to get production from that unit.
No today in history today, sorry. I'm running late.
Today's musical birthday is Thurston Moore, born in 1958.
Happy Friday
EDIT: Meant to add, Canis Hoopus now has a facebook page (again). It's here. Had to start a new one because nobody seemed to have the password for the old one. Tim and Zach will be handling it for the most part. If you are a facebook user, do what you do.
