Report: Timberwolves and Cavaliers Have Handshake Deal in Place for Kevin Love

This is probably nothing particularly new, but it seems to have generated renewed discussion. ESPN's Brian Windhorst said on radio today that a deal was in place.

Brian Windhorst, long time ESPN reporter focused on LeBron James, went on ESPN Radio today and said that the Wolves and Cavaliers have a handshake deal in place to trade Kevin Love once the Andrew Wiggins trade moratorium expires on August 23rd.

He expresses certainty that the deal in place would send Love to the Cavs in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, and that Anthony Bennett will be involved as well, along with draft picks. Windhorst thinks it likely that Thad Young also winds up in Minnesota, either in a separate deal or integrated as part of a three team trade, with Bennett perhaps being re-routed to Philly.

This follows on Glen Taylor's remarks that he expects to trade Love on the 23rd or 24th of August.

None of this is particularly new, but Windhorst is convinced it's done, and that has generated another round of conversation around the internet.

I've been hesitant to start writing about what that Wolves team will look like until it gets done, and we know the details, but that would be pretty good work to get Wiggins and Young out of this, I think. I'm not in love with Wiggins, but he could wind up being very good.

You got anything?
