Bucks at Wolves
7:00 pm CDT
FS North
The Wolves host the Bucks in their final tuneup contest before heading out west to face the Lakers on Wednesday in the regular season opener.
After what has been a pretty dismal preseason in terms of team performance, it's important that the Wolves look a little sharper tonight, especially compared to their last couple of outings, which have been aesthetic disasters.
This will be the third game for Ricky Rubio, and it's time the starting lineup, which looks pretty set now, begin to mesh a little better and get off to a better start. Meanwhile, guys behind the starters are going to be fighting for minutes and spots in the rotation, and that's a good thing. We'll hopefully see some better performances tonight as we head for the games that actually count.
I expect the same starting five we've seen over the last couple of games:
Rubio
Wiggins
Prince
Garnett
Towns
and outside of Pekovic, there are no injuries on the squad. Let's keep it that way.
Meanwhile, the Wolves will have to cut three players soon---Kleon Penn and Nick Wiggins will be two of them, and the final spot will come down to Lorenzo Brown or Damjan Rudez. Like many, my sense is that Rudez makes the opening day roster and Brown is cut loose, but we'll see.
John is at Target Center and will have the recap for us later.
Meanwhile, enjoy the game, and chat about it here.
