According to the Minnesota Timberwolves, this year's team will wear a special patch on its jerseys in memory of former head coach Flip Saunders, who lost his battle to cancer Sunday morning.

Glen Taylor said Monday that the decision was pending NBA approval, so it's nice to see that everything went through so quickly. The patch will be worn starting Nov. 2, in the Wolves' home opener against Portland, and will be worn for all home and away games throughout the entire season.
Also announced by the Timberwolves PR team, the players will honor Saunders by wearing a commemorative shooting shirt through November. The Wolves will wear the shirts for the first time during Wednesday's pre-game warmups.
