Coming off last night's emotional win in Atlanta, the Wolves will look to avoid a letdown tonight as they return home to face the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets have gotten off to a slow 2-4 start and are missing key cog Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who is out for the season with a shoulder injury.

Teams are shooting quite well against the Hornets inside and out so far this year, and their lack of rim protection seems to be an issue--hopefully the Wolves can get to the basket against the Hornets tonight. Meanwhile, they have been a relatively efficient, low turnover offense so far, a good test for the Wolves much improved defense. They have balanced scoring, with six players averaging in double figures, so the Wolves will have to be prepared with everyone on the floor.

This feels like a sneaky big game early in the season. The Wolves need to break their duck at home for one thing, and for another the upcoming back to back (home against Golden State on Thursday, at Indiana on Friday) is going to be very tough. It would be nice to go into that set off a win and sitting at 5-2.

As of this writing, no word on whether there will be any lineup changes given that this is the first back to back of the season. It was widely expected that KG would not play back to backs, but there is no word as of yet that he is planning to sit this one out.

LATE NOTE: KG is indeed out tonight.
