Trail Blazers at Timberwolves: Game 3 Game Thread

The undefeated Timberwolves open their home schedule tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers. Time to get another win.

In what will be an emotional night in the Twin Cities, the Timberwolves look to win their third straight game for the first time since last February. Flip Saunders will be remembered with a pregame tribute on the video board, and the Timberwolves will wear the commemorative "Flip" patch on their uniforms for the first time this season. Basketball may be hard to concentrate on early in this one.

The Blazers are in a select few teams who were predicted by many to be worse than the Timberwolves. Losing four of their starters from last year's Northwest Division-winning team, most notably Lamarcus Aldridge, has not led to high hopes in the Rose City. However, Damian Lillard remains a great talent at point guard, and CJ McCollum started the season with a 37 point explosion against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Wolves come in with a strong performance each from Karl-Anthony Towns and Ricky Rubio in their two wins. Could tonight be Andrew Wiggins' turn to lead the way? Reports have his back feeling better than it had been in the first two games, and he should have favorable matchups on offense tonight.

Expected Lineups

Portland

Damian Lillard
CJ McCollum
Al-Farouq Aminu
Mason Plumlee
Meyers Leonard

Minnesota

Ricky Rubio
Andrew Wiggins
Tayshaun Prince
Kevin Garnett
Karl-Anthony Towns
