The Bulls are coming off a very impressive win against the Oklahoma City Thunder, which followed a 25 point blowout loss at the hands of the Hornets. They have been a little up and down in the early going under new coach Fred Hoiberg as they adjust to a new style of play, but overall its been more up than down, as they sit at 4-2 on the season thus far.

The Bulls have moved into the middle of the pack in pace and three point attempt rate, and as Hoiberg gets more of his system in place expect those numbers to go up. They have shot the ball quite well, especially from outside the arc, with Nikola Mirotic, Jimmy Butler, and Doug McDermott being especially dangerous from beyond the arc, so the Wolves will have to be aware of those players and be prepared to close out and chase them off the arc.

Their lineup changes have had a detrimental affect on their rebounding, however, as like the Wolves they are among the weaker rebounding teams in the league at both ends. They are clearly not the defensive juggernaut they have been in years past, but they have done a good job of keeping teams off the free throw line, a place where the Wolves generally make hay.

The Wolves of course are coming off two straight home losses following two wins on the road to open the season. The loss to the Heat was particularly unpleasant as there was very little positive to take away from it. Still, the Wolves can get rid of that sour taste by playing well this afternoon in Chicago.

Kevin Martin will not be available tonight. He once again missed practice yesterday for a personal issue, as he had a couple of times earlier in the week and will not be with the team in Chicago. This means the rotation will have to change as Martin has been the 2nd man off the bench so far this season, generally replacing Tayshaun Prince and moving Andrew Wiggins down to small forward. How Mitchell adjusts is something to keep an eye on given that his rotations have been open to question this early season.

Tyus Jones will be active for the first time this season.

Expected lineups

Derrick Rose
Jimmy Butler
Doug McDermott
Nikola Mirotic
Pau Gasol

Ricky Rubio
Andrew Wiggins
