Wolves sign Arinze Onuaku to 10-day contract

With Nikola Pekovic done for the year and Gorgui Deing's status unknown, the Wolves again turn to the field for an emergency big body

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Onuaku has played negligible minutes in just 5 NBA games. He played his college ball at Syracuse (...!!?!?!??!!....) spent some time overseas, and has more recently played in the DLeague, averaging 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Canton Charge this season.

He also has a 280 lbs frame, which seems like a precipitous coincidence for a team about to face DeMarcus Cousins.

Unlike Justin Hamilton, it's doubtful Onuaku has any real shot at a future with the team. But DLeague callups make twice as much on these 10-day deals as they do in a whole DLeague season, so good for him.

Still, I would be remiss to not point out that Jeff Adrien is a free agent again, and didn't fare too poorly in his last mixup with Cousins.

Onwards and sideways!
