NBA Draft Lottery
7:30 pm CDT
ESPN
This should be fun. We've all been here before, the annual NBA draft lottery, where the Wolves and 13 other teams find out where they will be drafting. As we know, the Wolves managed to finish with the worst record in the league, giving them the best chance at securing the #1 overall pick, and meaning they cannot drop below 4th.
Brief history: The lottery has not been kind to the Wolves. They have never moved up in the lottery (at least we can't hope for that this year) and have moved down on several important occasions. I could give you the entire history of it, but why go there? It's just depressing.
Here are the teams with ping pong balls:
Minnesota Timberwolves
New York Knicks
Philadelphia 76ers
Los Angeles Lakers
Orlando Magic
Sacramento Kings
Denver Nuggets
Detroit Pistons
Charlotte Hornets
Miami Heat
Indiana Pacers
Utah Jazz
Phoenix Suns
Oklahoma City Thunder
The Wolves chances of landing in each possible spot are as follows:
1st: 25%
2nd: 21.5%
3rd: 17.8%
4th: 35.7%
The Timberwolves will be represented by Becky Taylor, wife of owner Glen Taylor, on stage at the lottery. Meanwhile, Flip Saunders is expected to be available to the media immediately following the lottery at the Wolves locker room.
We'll have the results reported as soon as we can.
Meanwhile, enjoy the show and chat about it here.
