Moore wins All-Star MVP, Bennett impresses at Pan Am

Maya Moore stole the show at WNBA All-Star, while Anthony Bennett turned a few heads at the Pan Am games.

Maya Moore scored an All-Star game record 30 points, including eight straight in the final two minutes, leading her Western All-Star team to a 117-112 victory. Moore was named All-Star MVP with totals of 30 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Lindsay Whalen and Seimone Augustus were also named All-Stars but did not participate due to injury. The Lynx will get back to work on Wednesday, facing the Los Angeles Sparks.

A couple of signings this weekend in the NBA: Sam Dalembert agreed to a one-year deal with Dallas and GRIII agreed to a three-year deal with Indiana. In addition, Shabazz Napier was sent to Orlando for a future second-round pick while Mike Miller and Brendan Haywood were sent to Portland for two second-round picks. The Cavaliers have two trade exceptions now - $10.5M and $2.85M.

In the meantime, Anthony Bennett and the Canadian National Team took Silver in the Pan American games. Bennett seemed to play with more confidence, ending the tournament with a couple notable performances, including 18 points on 8-12 vs. the U.S. and 17 points going perfect from the field vs. Argentina.

It's obvious that the level of competition in the Pan Am games is not quite NBA-like, but despite that fact, Bennett did show some impressive glimpses. Speaking of which - have you seen this dunk? The force he dunks with still impresses me. I'm easily entertained.

Unfortunately, I don't have much history knowledge and I also don't have as good of a taste in music as Eric, so I can't provide you with either of those things. With that said, every Monday you can expect an update to my Timberwolves 2k season because I'm a dork.

We're the fifth seed and its the 2016-2017 season. Andrew Wiggins dropped 30 points and led the Wolves to a win. This is a game 1 recap:

Editor's Note: This is UMN_Shazzy's debut as a writer for Canis Hoopus. Most of you will know him from the comments section, Twitter (@UMN_SK) and from his time working social media for the Wolves. Please welcome him. We're thrilled to have him on board. --Eric.
