Thursday Therapy: Europe, Cars and High School

In today's Thursday Therapy, we envision the sights and sounds of an NBA player's summer excursions.

Good morning and welcome to the therapy couch. This morning, we're going to do a little imagining of the wonders of being an NBA player. If you were an NBA player and were paid like one, you could do things like...

  • Purchase a shiny new automobile from a local car dealership. That's what Zach LaVine did yesterday, getting himself a shiny new BMW. Now, I can hear the malcontents already. "LaVine bought this instead of being on the court putting work in!" "Fits him perfectly? This size 9 up his... you know, never mind." "LaVine? More like LaSheen, am i right?" Poor Zach just needs a ride to practice. He couldn't help but go for the upward-opening doors when they went and showed them off to him, now could he?

(in case it weren't abundantly clear, the majority of that paragraph was written with my tongue so far in my cheek that I'm going to spend the rest of the morning finding it again.)

  • Represent your country on the biggest stage in the world. And by the world, in this case, I mean Europe. Nemanja Bjelica remains in Lille giving Wolves fans the fits with hope. Serbia moved on to the semi-finals of Eurobasket with an 89-75 victory over the Czech Republic on Wednesday Bjelica had another strong showing with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and  of his three-pointers on the day. Serbia will play next on Friday against Lithuania.
  • Make a friendly wager over the results of the other Eurobasket semi-final (Spain-France) with a beloved former teammate.

  • Or, you could just go back and visit your high school and take a selfie, because it's been SO long since you graduated and you've forgotten everything about it. Over to you, Tyus:

Because it's the offseason and I can, it's poll time.

Music of the day: this week in gaming, a little game called Destiny released its first major expansion, the Taken King. I made the horrific choice to acquire the game for the first time last week before the expansion, and I don't dislike it nearly as much as I thought it would. Anyway, here's the expansion's opening title theme, which is excellent. Have a wonderful day.
