The biggest news of the weekend comes from the Lynx, who completed a sweep of their rival Mercury behind an incredible playoff career-high 40 points by Maya Moore. <blockquote class="twitter-video" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">.<a href="https://twitter.com/MooreMaya">@MooreMaya</a> scored a career playoff high 40 points to lead the <a href="https://twitter.com/minnesotalynx">@minnesotalynx</a> to the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/WNBAFinals?src=hash">#WNBAFinals</a>! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/WatchMe?src=hash">#WatchMe</a> <a href="https://t.co/luur85Z4Zj">https://t.co/luur85Z4Zj</a></p>— WNBA (@WNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/WNBA/status/648313293786869761">September 28, 2015</a></blockquote>

The win was sealed after a questionable call by the officials, sending Maya to the line in the closing 1.5 seconds. Nonetheless, the Lynx seemed to be in control all series and held Griner in check for the majority of it. They squeaked out of Phoenix with a win for the first time this season and will await the winner of New York/Indiana to see who they face in the Finals. You can catch the Fever/Liberty deciding game on Tuesday on ESPN2 to see who's going to emerge as our next matchup.
In Wolves news, my favorite day of the year is just about to begin. Wolves Media Day is here and marks the start of training camp. The training camp roster was finalized earlier this weekend and is as follows: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Twolves?src=hash">#Twolves</a> announce final 18-player training camp roster. Media Day set for tomorrow; first practice is Tuesday. <a href="http://t.co/PoOoWQ52d4">pic.twitter.com/PoOoWQ52d4</a></p>— Timberwolves PR (@Twolves_PR) <a href="https://twitter.com/Twolves_PR/status/648241855918804992">September 27, 2015</a></blockquote>

Additionally, it's a great sign to see that Wolves players are coming in on their days off to get more workouts in. Interesting tidbit: Pek is slowly starting getting back to workouts, but Jerry Z thinks his playing days won't come anytime soon.
Finally, if you didn't hear...the Wolves are having an open scrimmage next Monday. Tickets are still available (for free) at Timberwolves.com. You should grab some and come say hi - I'll likely be there!
On a personal note: this will be one of my final posts here at Canis. I've been offered a position working for the Kings as their digital producer/team reporter. Been grinding away this weekend between trying to find a subleaser and packing up all my things, but am expecting to have another couple posts for you guys. In addition, as always, I'll be lurking and commenting as I had previously. Please reach out if you need anything!
