Rubio to Host Charity Game, Lynx in Action at Home Today

Couple of notes for your open thread.

Just a quick couple of notes today:

Ricky Rubio is hosting a charity basketball game on September 24th at Target Center to benefit "A Breath for Hope Lung Foundation." As we remember, his mother died earlier this summer from lung cancer. He's Calling it "Rubio's Hoop for Hope," and it will feature Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, Ronny Turiaf, Kenneth Faried, and others yet to be announced. We'll have more as details emerge. It should be fun, and it's for a great cause, so if you can, you should think about attending.

Meanwhile, the Lynx host the Atlanta Dream today at noon. The Lynx have put together a string of wins following their down patch, and now sit at 19-4. The Los Angeles Sparks have lost their last two games to fall to 20-3, providing the Lynx with an opening to fight for the top seed in the league. They play twice more (today and Friday, also at home against the Seattle Storm) before taking a month long break for the Olympics. After that, it will be a sprint to the finish with nine games remaining in the regular season when they return.

Today's musical birthday is Carlos Santana, born in 1947
