The Wolves broke their free agency silence this afternoon, agreeing to a 3-year, $22 million deal with center Cole Aldrich. Aldrich, 27, is coming off his best season as a pro, in which he averaged 5.5 ppg and 4.8 rbg in just over 13 mpg for the Los Angeles Clippers.
Aldrich figures to provide much-needed frontcourt depth for the Wolves as well as a defensive presence for the second unit. Last season Aldrich posted a defensive rating of 94, blocked 3.1 shots per 36 minutes, and had a defensive box plus/minus of 5.8, per Basketball-Reference.
Also, Aldrich is a native of Bloomington, Minnesota. So he's #OneOfUs.
