According to a report from ESPN’s Marc Stein, the long offseason wait on Kevin Garnett’s decision for next season may be almost over, and the answer may not be what many fans were hoping for.
Minnesota and Kevin Garnett are in advanced discussions on a buyout expected to end KG's second stint with the Wolves, league sources say.

The longer this process took, the more one started to wonder how the relationship between Garnett and the new front office structure would work, and if Garnett was happy with the situation. From this, it sounds like KG is done. This may mean he retires, or it may mean he looks to play with another team and squeeze one more year out, but January 23 may have been the last time to see KG as a member of the Timberwolves.
Obviously, we’ll have more reaction to this as the news filters through, but regardless of KG’s role (or lack thereof) on next season’s Wolves, the time for reflection on the kid from Farragut Academy in Chicago and his long, amazing career in Minnesota may be upon us.
