The Wizards and Celtics square off for Game 5

Series tied 2-2

In one of the few competitive series that we have remaining in the playoffs, we have another Game 5 to watch tonight. This has been another back and forth series, with the home team winning each game.

The Wizards and the Celtics do not like each other one bit. The series has been filled with hard fouls and constant bickering. There have even been a few altercations, which have grown more and more rare in today’s NBA. This feud dates back for quite some time, as in the regular season it was a Wizards vs Celtics matchup where the Wizards arrived dressed in all black, in their “funeral” getup.

The contentious nature between the two teams will likely only escalate tonight in the return back to Boston. Kelly Oubre will also be playing his first game back after his suspension which he received due to his actions in Game 2.

The series has been primarily defined by the stars. John Wall has been simply transcendent and it has been amazing to watch Isaiah Thomas and his playoff run. Whichever team is able to most consistently free up their star players has typically won so far.

In an era of the NBA where point guards have reigned supreme, John Wall has been able to step up his games and emerge as a Juggernaut, demolishing teams with his shooting, fastbreak skills, and passing.

John Wall Regular Season: 23.1 ppg, 10.7 apg, 4.2 rpg

John Wall Playoffs: 28.8 ppg, 11.1 apg, 3.5 rpg

Bradley Beal has also proved himself worthy of his contract extension, as he has also been tremendous, both in the regular season and the playoffs. The Wizards certainly look they are able to push the Celtics to the brink.
