The first thing I thought watching today’s press conference introducing Jimmy Butler is how much Tom Thibodeau loves him. It just shined through every second—I don’t think I’ve ever hear Thibs so happy.
He clearly loves his game, his intelligence, his toughness, and his hard work. Having them back together in Minnesota is awesome for them, and for Wovles fans.
Butler himself was fantastic. Talked about being in the community, leading on and off the floor, and winning.
But he stole the show by actually giving out his telephone number, telling anyone with a criticism to get at him directly.
IT WAS ACTUALLY HIS PHONE NUMBER!
I’ve never seen anything like that before. Completely amazing and endearing, though I doubt he has that number for too long.
SECOND AMAZING THING: HE ACTUALLY TOOK SOME CALLS!
So Jimmy Butler is actually taking facetime calls from randoms right now. pic.twitter.com/2kLclvpJEz— Adam Howes (@Howsito) June 29, 2017
His agent also got involved in dealing with the messages:

After the presser, Butler has been making the local media rounds. He insists they will defend, and win, and I believe him.
Karl-Anthony Towns and Butler are headed out to L.A. soon to workout together.
I’m about as excited for a Wolves season as I can remember.
I think I might call Jimmy Buckets and let him know.
