While the entire NBA waits on the Gordon Hayward decision, the Timberwolves released some unfortunate news about Justin Patton, their first-round pick from this year’s draft.

Obviously, this is new news to everyone, since Patton hasn’t been carrying an injury. Foot injuries on big men are never something to be entirely comfortable with, and for this to happen before Patton’s played any significant time at the NBA level is a real shame.
As the press release states, this rules Patton out of the Las Vegas Summer League, which begins this weekend, and his recovery will likely take some decent time. A quick and smooth recovery with no future complications will be the hope of everyone involved as the summer progresses.
