Hey, we’re back! It’s the first game thread of the season, and it damn well better feel like one.

The Wolves are in Oakland to take on the Warriors in their first preseason game tonight. The Wolves head into the game with a still unsettled roster as we await resolution of the Jimmy Butler situation.

Given that, we expect Derrick Rose to slot in at the off-guard spot, with the other four starters the familiar faces of Jeff Teague, Andrew Wiggins, Taj Gibson, and Karl-Anthony Towns.

While it will be great (for those of you with access to NBA TV) to get a look at the Wolves after a long and sometimes frustrating summer, we of course cannot read too much (or, really, anything) into a preseason contest, especially the first one.

Hopefully the starters won’t play too many minutes, and some of the less experienced guys—Josh Okogie, Keita Bates-Diop, and James Nunnally—get a decent amount of run and we can see what they look like in NBA jerseys.

The Warriors appear fully healthy with the exception of DeMarcus Cousins, though whether and how much their stars play remains to be seen.

Anyway, the Wolves are back, so enjoy the game. Chat here. Go Wolves.
