At least one member of the Timberwolves will be involved in the NBA All-Star Weekend. Josh Okogie has been named one of the ten first and second year players on the World team for the Rising Stars game on Friday night. The World Team will face off against a group of U.S. players.
Okogie was born in Nigeria, and is the only player in the game this year born in Africa. The World team’s ceremonial coach is Dirk Nowitzki (can he teach Okogie how to shoot?)
The World team is headlined by Ben Simmons (Australia) and Luka Doncic (Slovenia).
The U.S. team features Donovan Mitchell and Jayson Tatum, and the honorary coach is Kyrie Irving.
The game will be played Friday, February 15th at 8:00 pm CST. It will air on TNT.
