Thought it was time for a quick game thread, perhaps the last one of the season. The Warriors are up against it after two home losses, and face elimination tonight in Toronto, as the Raptors seek their first ever NBA title.

The Raps have looked clearly the better team throughout the series. Their defense has mostly stifled the undermanned Warriors, and their bench has been a huge difference so far. And then of course there is Kawhi Leonard, who has been the best player on the floor throughout the playoffs.

But Kevin Durant is returning for the Warriors tonight after missing the first five games of the series. The former Finals MVP will try to bring them back from the brink on an injured calf. Durant of course can be a huge difference maker, not only taking on part of the scoring load himself, but forcing the Raptors to change their defensive approach to account for his abilities.

The big question is whether he’s healthy enough to make the necessary difference, and whether or not it’s too late. “The Warriors were up 3-1 in the Finals” has been an NBA twitter meme since they lost to Cleveland, and no doubt they would like nothing better than to come back from down 3-1 themselves.

If Durant somehow manages to pull them through this, it will be a truly great story. But the Raptors bringing a championship to Toronto would be an even better one.

Talk about it here.
