Of course the key to any pre-season is to stay healthy, and get an early look at what combinations might work, as well as to work through new schemes at something close to game speed.
We’re only a little over two months away from seeing our beloved pups back in action.
In addition to announcing the pre-season schedule, the Wolves also officially announced the hiring of Sachin Gupta as Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations. We’ve discussed Gupta at length as this has been known for a while now, but worth noting he’s been an integral part of front offices in Houston, Philadelphia, and most recently Detroit.
His expertise in salary cap management, the CBA, and analytics opened the door for him, but he’s expanded his areas to included talent assessment and trade negotiations. It’s a fantastic hire of one of the smartest guys in the league, and will hopefully make a real difference for the Wolves in their roster building efforts.
