World Cup Final: Netherlands vs. U.S.

Netherlands vs. U.S.
10:00 am Central

A quick open thread for the soccer match.

No time to do analysis, but the U.S. is the clear favorite in Lyon against European champions The Netherlands.

The U.S. is looking for it’s fourth World Cup title while the Dutch appear in the first final. They are led by their fabulous front line, including center forward Vivianne Miedema and winger Lieke Martens.

These two teams have had the biggest and loudest travelling support at the tournament, and the stadium should be full of fantastic energy today.

For the U.S., both Megan Rapinoe and Rose Lavelle, who have had hamstring problems are in the starting lineup, but arguably their best player, Lindsay Horan, is not for reasons you would have to ask Jill Ellis.

A big day for soccer, even though the other two finals (Copa America this afternoon and the Gold Cup tonight) should never have been scheduled on the same day as a World Cup Final.
