Just outside of the lottery is where the 2020 Draft Class begins to make up for the top of the class’ lack of elite-level talent. Saddiq Bey (Villanova), Precious Achiuwa (Memphis) and Josh Green (Arizona) are three players that represent the middle of this first round’s strength.

With the Timberwolves owning the No. 17 pick, and additional draft capital to trade into this range, these three players should be viewed as potential options to fill roles alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell.

Will DeBerg, who coaches locally here at the University of St. Thomas, again joined the podcast to dig through the film of these prospects. We discuss the elements of Bey, Achiuwa and Green’s games that we believe in after watching the tape, and, as an exercise, poke holes in the prevailing logic that they need to be drafted in this range.

For those, like myself, that are interested in how these prospects stack up physically, I put together a list of players from the past 10 NBA Combines that measured similarly in terms of height, weight and wingspan.
