Dane Moore NBA Podcast: Who is Better? Ja Morant or Karl-Anthony Towns?

Who will have a better season this season — Karl-Anthony Towns or Ja Morant? ESPN’s top 100 rankings pose these type of questions, and they came to the conclusion that Towns will have the 23rd-best year in the NBA this season while Morant ranks 31st. So their answer is KAT. But when we expand the lens to consider the future, is KAT still the clear-cut answer?

On today’s pod, I dig into this topic, asking a league executive how Morant on Towns are viewed in the league’s hierarchy. Additionally, I run through my main observations from the Timberwolves second preseason game. Including:

  • Rondae Hollis-Jefferson’s big night. Will RHJ crack the regular season rotation? Who would he replace?
  • A complete lack of offensive synergy. What adjustments can be made?
  • Jarrett Culver impresses on defense again, along with showing some offensive zip
  • Are the only players comfortable with the system the ones who have been in the Minnesota Timberwolves organization since the beginning of last season (Layman, Culver, KAT, Okogie, Nowell)?
