In a bit of a gut punch, Karl-Anthony Towns has shared that both of his parents have become ill, with his mother exhibiting more severe COVID-19 symptoms. He shared that she is currently in a medically induced coma and is hooked up to a ventilator.
I’m kind of at a loss for words here, but this is yet another example showing how serious we MUST take this virus. It’s admirable of KAT to even share this as openly as he did (will post video below). Take this seriously. Think of your parents, your friends, frankly, if you’re a young person like me, stay inside for any of the people you care about.
The NBA community has come together to support Karl and his family, and we will be thinking of the Towns family and keeping them in our prayers as well.

I thought Karl-Anthony Towns' message about his parents showed a side of Karl that we don't often get to see.

I'm proud of him, so I wanted to share a few personal interactions I've had with Karl and his parents over the years.
