Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, the mother of Karl-Anthony Towns, died Monday afternoon after a multi-week battle with COVID-19, according to a spokesperson for the Towns family.

Karl-Anthony Towns’ father was also battling the coronavirus, but has since been released from the hospital and is recovering.
