It wasn’t necessarily perfect basketball, but tonight was about all you can ask for from a preseason game. Above all else, the Timberwolves and Clippers entertained us tonight without anyone getting hurt. Sure, I tune in for more than that, but that’s the groundwork of any enjoyable preseason experience.
The fun didn’t stop there for the Wolves, though. It was a fun night to see pretty much everyone play moderately well, but there are a few guys who stood out.
First, it was nice to see Jaden McDaniels look a bit more in-sync with the rest of the starters. He’d been struggling so far, but McDaniels looked much more like the guy we hope to see moving forward. He finished with 16 points on 6-8 from the field, and 3-4 from three. That’s important as we get closer to the regular season.
D’Angelo Russell looked fantastic tonight. His importance to this season cannot be overstated. Again, all the preseason qualifiers and all that, but an efficient 19/7/9 in just 23 minutes is outstanding. That version of D’Lo is an awesome player.
Lastly, NAZ REID!! Naz is just so fun, man. I’m very glad he’s on this team. Every time he’s on the floor he reminds you just how unique of a player he is. Naz had moments last year, but it feels like he’s really ready to breakout this year. Naz finished with 13/5/2/2/2, and it’s stuff like this that reminds you how fun he is.

Above all else, it was another fun night of Timberwolves basketball. It seems to be a trend with this team, and one that I’d expect to continue into the regular season. Here’s an ANT dunk to close us out.
