The 2021-22 NBA regular season kicked off earlier this week, with the first double-header of the new league year involving four teams who are all expected to make deep playoff runs next spring — the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and of course the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks. While is was just one game in a marathon of a season, the Giannis-led Bucks looked primed and ready to defend their 2021 NBA Finals trophy against any and all newcomers.
However, the latest results from the SB Nation Reacts survey paints a different picture, with 42% of fans saying they believe it will be the Nets — not the Bucks — who will eventually come out of the Eastern Conference, despite everything that is going on with their star PG Kyrie Irving.

Switching conferences (and coasts), 29% of fans polled by SB Nation Reacts believe the elder statesmen Los Angeles Lakers will be the team to meet the Nets in the Finals, slightly nudging out the Utah Jazz (17%), Phoenix Suns (17%), Denver Nuggets (11%), and Golden State Warriors (11%).
It should be mentioned that despite not making it on this fabulous DraftKings graphic, the Minnesota Timberwolves did indeed receive .5% of the fan vote when asked who will win the Western Conference, which is the clearest sign yet that Wolves-related optimism has hit a fever pitch.

Los Angeles Lakers
As for regular season MVP, Dallas Mavericks PG Luka Doncic appears to be the fan favorite yet again this season, followed by the MVP of the 2021 NBA Finals (Giannis Antetokounmpo) and Kevin Durant:
According to DraftKings, Doncic is currently +380 to win regular season MVP, followed by Kevin Durant (+600), Joel Embiid (+800), Giannis Antetokounmpo (+800), and Steph Curry (+900). If you’re into these types of things like I am, I’d suggest sprinkling a little currency on Donovan Mitchell (+3000) and Ja Morant (+4500), both of whom appear like the biggest values when it comes to the current NBA MVP odds for 2021-22.
As it pertains to the Timberwolves specifically, Karl-Anthony Towns is currently +9000 to win regular season MVP, with Anthony Edwards coming in second on the team at +15000.
