Minnesota closes out their season by hosting the Dallas Mavericks

Our beloved Minnesota Timberwolves finish their season tonight, closing with a late-night matchup with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

For Minnesota, the only thing I really care about tonight is that everyone just gets through the game healthy. It’s been fun to watch these guys grow together since the All-Star break, but with the final game, I’m not as concerned with how everyone looks and more so just looking to enjoy seeing Anthony Edwards play basketball one more time and making sure everyone is ready to go to start next season. Minnesota has shown enough for me to feel optimistic about next season.

On the other side, this is a pretty important game for Dallas for seeding purposes. They’re currently sitting in 5th with a rematch of last year’s first round series against the Clippers. I suspect that after that series last year Luka does not fear the Clippers at all, but I’d have to imagine they’d rather see Denver. Who knows, though. The seeding 3-6 in the West is all still in flux and frankly, there are so many different scenarios in play that it’s hard to imagine Dallas wants to do anything but win.

It would be fun to see the Wolves play well and head into the offseason with a good taste in our mouths, but we’ll see.

Lastly, I just wanted to take a little space here to thank all of you for sticking with us throughout yet another losing season. Even if the excitement that Anthony Edwards brings is enough to keep many of us interested either way, it’s hard to stay as passionate throughout all of the losing. I suppose we’ve all learned to handle that together.

In all seriousness, it’s been wonderful to go through another season with all of you. It’s been a blast to see what level of passion is out there for this franchise, and here’s to hoping the 2021-22 season brings good vibes and a few more wins too.
