After a couple of days off, the Minnesota Timberwolves are back in action today as they take on the Chicago Bulls in their second game of 2021 NBA Summer League.

Game 1 of the Timberwolves’ Summer League schedule was fairly successful, with guys like Nathan Knight and McKinley Wright flashing serious potential against the Summer Spurs. Today’s matchup against Chicago should present another good opportunity for Minnesota’s more polished players (i.e. Jaden McDaniels and Jaylen Nowell) as they go up against the Bulls’ top second-year player, Patrick Williams, who has looked strong in his first two Summer League games earlier this week.
Outside of Williams, the other interesting name on the Summer Bulls roster is Omari Spellman, who you might remember was involved in the D’Angelo Russell/Andrew Wiggins trade a few years back. As far as I can tell, Spellman has not suited up in a professional NBA game since that trade (he bounced from Golden State to Minnesota and then quickly to New York), so I’m curious to watch him today and see what kind of skills he has (or doesn’t have).
Let’s start a winning streak

It’ll be a battle in the desert later today between one of the most active teams this offseason (Chicago) and one of the least active (Minnesota). In addition to Wright, Knight, and Jaden, I’m excited to see how a guy like Isaiah Miller performs against Chicago, who really impressed me on Monday with his athleticism and activity level on defense.
