Fans will get their first chance to see the 2021-22 Timberwolves at Target Center when the team opens its preseason schedule on Monday, October 4 when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans. This will mark the first time in franchise history that Minnesota will play the Pelicans in the preseason.
After opening against New Orleans, the Timberwolves travel for the final three preseason games, including matchups against the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena on Friday, Oct. 8 and Monday, Oct. 11 at the L.A. Clippers. The Wolves wrap up their exhibition games with a contest against Brooklyn at Barclays Center on Thursday, Oct. 14.

For those of you interested in attending the lone preseason home game at Target Center, preseason tickets for the October 4 game against Zion Williamson and the Pelicans will go on sale on Thursday, September 9. According to a press release from the team, fans can register for priority access to single game tickets, including preseason, by visiting https://www.nba.com/timberwolves/priority. The Wolves’ preseason broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date.
Having only one home game out of four total preseason contests is definitely a bummer, but I would imagine the scheduling here somewhat coincides with a possible deep playoff run for the Minnesota Lynx (the WNBA playoffs are scheduled to start at the end of September and run through the middle of October). Either way, we now have a little more clarity as to when we can expect to get our first official glimpse at the 2021-22 Minnesota Timberwolves.
