After a thrilling victory on Sunday against the Summer Sixers in the inaugural “Ben Simmons Bowl,” it was my belief (and many others) that the Minnesota Timberwolves had concluded their Summer League with a perfect record, but because of point differential they would not qualify for today’s championship game.
Well, I was wrong.
NEWS: The @Timberwolves final Summer League game will be on Tuesday at 6:30 pm CT against New Orleans on NBATV. https://t.co/TMLiuDAXT5

Like many other things in life, I failed to read the fine print of the Summer League contract that said all teams would be guaranteed five games in Las Vegas, which is why the Wolves will still play a final game later today despite being eliminated from championship contention.
So yes — the Wolves and New Orleans Pelicans will square off at 6:30PM CST later tonight, which I guess is good news because outside of wedding planning, I have nothing else going on in my life. With that said, I really hope guys like Jaylen Nowell and Jaden McDaniels do NOT suit up for this one, which is the most meaningless of all meaningless Summer League contests.
One last showdown in Vegas.

Either way, set your DVR’s accordingly, as the Summer Wolves still have a little left in the tank before sailing off into the sunset.
